De-grease it all and find out which part is leaking.

It seems to be where the transfer box mates the back of the gear box. Well from laying on my back under the truck for about 10 Minuits. As I found out, It's a good way to get strange looks from people:lol:lol

its just a sweaty gearbox nowt much to work about, all my cars had had that issue, neva caused a problem. :thumb2

try doing that when ur a woman, the looks r even better :lol:augie

Mine also does it, i just figured it will stop it rusting.

Pfft yeah, I'm not worrying about it. I seem to remember the maverick we had did it too. Had no bother. I'm probably going to change the oil next week. Clean the usual filings out and Get some GL4 in there ! :D

It's probably leaking from the gear stick yoke and tracking down the side of the box.

If this is the case it's an easy fix. :thumbs

Another one to watch is the transfer box where the selector goes into the box, the seals have been known to weep.

I had a drop of oil once out of the rear propshaft seal, my mav has never leaked oil, this was the first spot on the garage floor. That was 5 years ago.

So when I looked at the spec of molyslip for the gearbox, an added benefit was it softened the seals and help to cure oil leaks at seals... Yeah right I thought...:augie

Well it did what it said on the tin, it has never leaked oil again.:thumb2

I doubt it would work on gaskets though, but I don't have any oil seapage around the box either.

Best regards,
Rustic
