finally got my syncro problem sorted with a 'new' gearbox. only that brought with it its own problems.
the 'new' gearbox was out of a 2.7 mark 1 maverick, possibly '94 ish. mines a '98 mav. the guy went to fit only to find a few differences between the two.
hes said the bell housing on the 'new' one is shorter, which means the rear prop is slightly stretched whereas the front is a tight fit. the starter fitment was different. the guy had to drill to holes in the 'new' box that werent there, but were on the old one. the gearstick was different. some of the electrical connections are different.
anyone heard of these differences?
