Gear Knob

All,
How does the Gear Knob itself come off. Is it a screw thread or is there a Hidden Screw somewhere?

I want to Change mine for something a little Nicer.

Screw thread, fine pitch but conventional direction, just screw off anticlockwise..............nothing personal

Found when I replaced mine it was rather stiff to move as it had a spot of glue on the threads:augiefitted an after market one no probs & then replaced both knobs for 8 balls
