Gas Less MIG Welder

What's a Gas Less MIG Welder? is it just an Arc with wire instead of stick? Thought it was Metal Inert Gas?

gas less mig, the wire has a flux coating i believe, my mates got one, but it's not as good as a gas mig, only problem with gas migs is the small bottles of gas are expensive and last 10 mins, better to convert to co2 for just general work, argon mix heavy industrial use, i use pub bottles and never had a problem, if you are welding rust damage argon will run cleaner, but then you have to rent a bottle, more expense, :thumbs
