Today in fact I ran off 20 gallons of hot water (66 degrees) to stop the tubes over heating, they were at 87 degrees

Pft we use around 2.5 units a day and solar gives more than that most days this time of year, and I do not pay the shisters a penny, Rick

Like.:clap

What do you use when we have no sun if your off grid?

I gave you the wrong boiler, ours is the older model https://www.heatingspares247.com/do...4_Installation_And_Servicing_Instructions.pdf

I will try and turn the hot water down, but the only adjustment I can see is on the Central Heating Temp???
I'd be happy if the Mrs had a 20min shower. She likes 90min baths

I have had a look at your boiler..........every time you demand hot water the boiler always go into maxium gas burn :doh costing you money if you have long showers ........you burning money

Divorce the wife :naughty or buy a new boiler :augie

ey thanks sparkiedoo :thumb2 I was doing some more thinking today and remembered that the dishwasher is plumbed into the Hot feed . So today I went and bought a self cutting tap and is now on the Cold feed. That should cut down on maximum burn :clap
Hmm but that means the dishwasher has to heat it up. :doh

you do not want to be rinsing with hot water from your boiler on your dishwasher ffs, :doh, Rick

on another note just to make you jealous, yesterday I had to run off 20 gallons of 65 degree water to stop the solar system overheating, and as we still had loads hot water at the start of today wiffey has had a bath and the tank low down still shows 46 degrees, I am going to roast myself shortly as back is in need of TLC, Rick

Gas Bill

kWh's briggie. How many kWh's for it to be £200? If your at home most of the day then I would think useage would naturally be higher.

Just had my gas bill for the last month (10 th July to 10th August) I am with British Gas and I have to submit a meter reading each month on my tarrif for what I actually use then I pay the following month.

It was £7.24, previous month was £12.07. That's cooking on the gas ring and boiler pilot light - its like a bunsen burner but it is a 25 year old boiler and I have a thermosyphon hot water system with an old primatic water tank.

that makes £ wise your Gas usuage out to be between £80-£100/yr? :clap:clap:clap
How does that work? Never heard of one of them
What about leccy?
