:lol

He was a character in the first two episodes of a new murder mystery series up here called 'Shetland'!

It's also a BBC sitcom set in a suburb of Dundee and starring Brian Cox :D

Rick that winch sounds pretty interesting, I'd be keen to see it. Tbh I can't really justify spending on it though (too many other things calling for the beer tokens at the moment) but one of my farming mates might :nenau

the books are really funny, the "hero of dundee" is my favorite,
"delete this at your peril" got me started on these books.

well worth a read and a good chuckle

Cheers Rick what a lovely piece of old machinery!

Nobody I know can make use of it which is a shame :( Probably more hassle than you can be bothered with but have you thought about putting it on ebay? Must be someone on there that would snap it up.

well it would be a shame to weigh it in, so maybe get some two it's, you know round ones, Rick

Can always stick a reserve on it. Or some dodgy people get friends to bid :augie
Not that i condone that sort of thing.. :sly

OK so this well out off my field, what would you think it could be worth? if less than £100 then not worth the effort as far as I am concerned, unless it is picked up from my yard as could not be bothered with palletising etc, if it turns out to be rare then I want a Million £, Rick

Not sure how this one stands up to yours, other than a gaudy coat of paint, but it's currently up at £375.

Rick, stick it on as a collection only, I recon the classic tractor boys will have it off you mate.

Like your tractor Barrbeast, looks in very good order.
Got one myself but not as respectable looking as that.
Like your winch too Rick, would love it but you are a bit far to collect.

gave the winch a look over today and nothing is seized at all, and every thing works, which is not bad as I have had it ten years and do not know how long it was here before that, but it has been under cover all that time, found two name plates on it seems it is a Massey Ferguson linkage winch model 704, made for MF by CM Hesford & Co Ltd Ormskirk, although this company is still trading they no longer deal in machinery, last year a user manual was sold on Ebay, so I will be cleaning this thing up, give it a coat of paint, put a new cable on it and Ebay it will go, Rick
