Well, I have the Fuzzmobil back together. I managed to find a replacement rear bumper, which is just slightly more silver than the old one, but I can live with it. My lights were all ok, so they went back in. I did the new towbar, and today I finished off the wiring for the replacement 13 pin socket and the camera connector back up where the old number plate used to be.

Looking good, all you need now is a van to tow, Rick

Ouch.... :doh

I spent the remainder of today stripping stuff out of the van. We are thinking of doing a buy back from the insurance, and breaking up the van, so I can get all the bits I want off of it. Does depend on what they want for it though. So if anyone needs anything from a 1996 Stirling Europa, for a reasonable price, let me know.

Did a search for Fuzmobile,Not sure that this applies to your truck though.

:lol:lol Never heard that before... although, I have heard the police referred to as the "Fuzz", many many years ago.

In my case, Fuzz is short for Fuzzie/fuzzbut/fuzzball... which is a term of endearment for a a ferret...

Most names for ferrets are too rude to use on forums, as they tend to go along the lines of "Oy, you little $h1*/Bu££e*/Git/$od/Ba$tar*/etc, bring back my slipper/remote/phone/wallet/food/drill/screwdriver now".

As a group they tend to be referred to as either the Fuzzies, or the "Kids" in this house but the true word for a collection of ferrets is a "Business of Ferrets", but it does sound a bit poncy saying, "I need to go and get some more food for my Business"

Glad you got a bit of good stuff at last :clap:clap

Have you used this lot: http://www.caravanfinder.co.uk/

Better than Autotrader.

Cheers

I think that is one of the sites my wife has been looking at...

I must admit, I have held off looking until I know how much money we have available, as there is nothing worse than seeing the perfect caravan for sale, and not being in a position to actually buy it.

I think she has already regretted looking too soon, as she spotted a 2007 version of the layout we liked, literally 2 mins after it was listed for only £4k, most of that age and layout would be nearer £8k. it stayed there to haunt her for 2 days before it was gone...

It looks like we may be in for the long haul with the insurance company, they are taking their time in responding to anything.

The good news is though, we did get a cheque for the full "next years" premium, in the post this morning. It just took a bit of a rather stern conversation, and also mentioning that we should have had a cooling off period, where we could cancel the policy. They said it was 14 days, I said, well it was within 14 working days, and you do all your stuff in working days, don't you... she said most things, but not the cooling off period. I said I was sure the ombudsman would like to know of such one sided inconsistency... She put me on hold, and then said I would be getting a cheque.:clap:clap

Hope you get sorted sooner rather than later with your van. Sometimes insurance companies can surprise you. Last claim I made went on for a while but out of the blue I got a phone call asking how I would like to be paid. I chose bank transfer and it was in the next day.

I've been looking for a spare wheel cover like yours. What vehicle did it come off?

It's a Frontera one. That's why the number plate is so big, so it covers the embossed Frontera logo across the middle.

Only thing is, the off set on the Frontera wheels, is further inside the wheel arch than my standard T2 wheels, so the cover fowls the rear windscreen wiper. I made up 2 bars of 1 inch square tube, and used them, with longer bolts as spacers between the door, and the carrier to move it further away.

It does mean though that the cover is a tight fit, as it rests against the tire, and I could not put wider tyres on mine if I wanted to.

I was going to have a look at the Isuzu cover, see if it is a better off set.

I had a real result, mine was just round the corner, and only cost £25... been looking for another one in gold for the wife's T1... Not seen one since.

The first one I got from Ebay, when I it arrived, it was just the back section. When I checked the listing, it was one of those that was worded in such a way that you made the assumption it was all there, but it did not actually say that. Anyway, as it is useless on it's own, I am in the process of reducing the dish on it, so I don't need the spacers, and the off set will be better for the T2 wheels, but I have kind of been distracted with other jobs over the last few weeks.:doh
