Afternoon gents,

Quick question about my head lights i was just driving back from the inlaws and put the full beam on they flashed then went out so dipped them and the normal beam came back on?So when i put full beam on all that is on is the side lights then dipped beam is as normal is there a fuse for the full beam as the fuse box cover for mine is all in japenese as it seems strange for both the full beam elements to have blown at the same time?

Cheers Stuart.

sounds like a bad earth to me

id be looking at the plug that goes into the bulb for signs of damage / corrosion... wiring too

Right ok i will have a look tomoz its a bit strange as they were working fine and the plugs looked fine when i put them in the bulbs have only been in a couple of months so would you say that its unlikely to be a fuse?

dont the headlights only run the highbeam and dip beam seperatly possbile just blown both highbeams but could be wrong

That is a bit odd as the left and right lights are seperately fused, so my guess is the relay that controls main beam but do not ask me where it is?????????? Rick

Hi lads had a look today cant see anythig obvious i took both bulbs out and both the full beam elements have blown?im confused.com i spoke to a sparky and he suggested it could be the relay aswell so il have to look into that i dont want to spend another 20 quid on bulbs and have them blow again so will test the plugs and see if maybe the voltage is spiking and take it from there its well strange that they have both went at the same time.

Cheers for the input :thumb2

Think its behind panel next to bonnet pull

Just a quick update on my slight problem with my headlights  ok so havent had a chance to check anything today but went to pick the daughter up and on the way home i had the headlights on as it was coming down dark had them on for around ten minutes then they both blew aswell :doh luckily i wasnt far from home need to take a voltage reading tommoz then take it from there.

Ok today i tested the voltage and it all seems fine so i have fitted a cheap set of bulbs they are working fine so far so il see if it happens again dont know what else to do :(
