Fuel Tank Rotted

I filled T-REX up with diesel the other week and slowly noticed a growing puddle of fuel under the rear of the vehicle. Had it booked in for a service anyway and the guy who did that also checked out the reason for the leak.
He finally removed the fuel tank and found that where the two halves of the tank are welded together there is a lot of rot and holes.
Does anybody know if I can get a replacement plastic tank for my Terrano or do I have to buy another metal one. :nenau Did not realise that most cars actually have plastic ones these days anyway.

I have been trying ..... not much luck so far had one sent but wrong one
A new one is almost £500 with a few weeks wait for delivery
