This problem with the seam splitting, would putting a fibreglass patch around it help? Thinking about preventative measures before it splits?

On my replacement second hand tank, I bought a couple of tubes of Leak Fix, similar to Chemical Metal, then I went over with more Chemical metal, can't say if it will help, but better than nothing.:nenau:nenau

Some epoxies don't like diesel, so check the instructions first, that's why I chose Leak Fix, but I think it could be the same as Chemical Metal anyway.

The problem with a patch is that if the seam is leaking it will go sideways and end up at the fixing holes and leak from there, so might be worth putting some suitable flexible sealant there too. Don't know what though.

Hope it helps.

best regards,
Rustic

My policy now is to never fill the tank beyond half full, unless I can use it the same day, just in case.
