I have a 2 year old Pathfinder it runs ok until I hit about 3000 rpm in 3rd and there abouts in other gears then it is struggles and won't pull any harder. At the last service they checked it with the computer and said possibly fuel pump. Has anyone had and solved similar problems.

Hello David
Not really up on the new Pathfinder, but how do Nissan think it’s the pump? Is the fuel rail pressure down?
What sort of journeys do you do? Quite often lots of short journeys can lead to problems with the diesel particulate filter that is in the exhaust, that doesn’t get hot enough.

wasn't there a recall for this problem it was caused by the turbo waste gate staying open once it reached maximum boost?

I do a mixture of journeys including long motorway. I will check the recall.

Thanks

Hi David
Check the Suction Control Valve on the back of the fuel pump. Replacing this is a cheaper option.
