does it do any harm if there no mini filter in the pump ?

ive heard that on the mitsubishi shogun/pajero if you remove it you get more mpg and more power
could this be possible and would it be worth just removing it not cleaning it

my theory on it is that if you change the main fuel filter regularly shouldnt cause any harm
anyone got any thoughts on this?

thanks lee

There is noe in mine. Whether or not it was there from day one, i dont know.....

I cant imagine it would do much damage not having one. Like you say, the fuel filter would catch anything anyway......

I removed mine because it was that blocked up & the fact that it was built into the banjo bolt & could'nt really clean it the way I wanted to  I found that my MPG did increase & so did the power from the engine & have had no probs with it gone

might be a bit thick here  but where is the mini filter located?

I LIKE THE SOUND OF MORE MPG & POWER

Most of peoples problems is because it gets choked and restricts fuel to pump, so it must be doing something!!!

Yes it might take years to choke, up to 10years in the UK, if you read the threads that people have had problems.

I didn't have one in my TDI, so if you change fuel filter on regular basis I don't think you'll have any problems.
Also fuel in different countries will play a big part in what crap is in the derv, bio, gas oil etc.
