I have a very slight fuel leak, not even dripping, in the back of the front drivers side wheel arch down close to the chassis - the mud in there is damp and smells of diesel.

It has been like this for months and has got nn worse, fuel consumption is unaffected and causes no running problems so probably return pipe.

I have decided to investigate / repair what do you think it is going to be?

Mind you if it was on a T2 then most likely where the rubber pipe joins the metal bit. It'll be perished rubber or corroded steel pipe.:doh

yep it's on the T2, so will cutting the end off the metal pipe and/or replacing the rubber fix it? If so what size is the rubber pipe and i'll get some before i start messing with it.

my freelander is cool :augie

phft :lol:lol:lol:lol
Flow is 10mm and return 8mm internal. I found the metal was repairable but why bother? It's bound to be a chase back to real metal. Just go much further than you think and double clip it unless you've got a flaring tool  oo er misses

I cut out both return and flow pipes from the fuel tank back on my Terrano and joined up to a decent bit of pipework with rubber fuel pipe and double clipped them..............I renewed both in copper, the return was leaking in probably the same place as yours and the flow was badly corroded as well.
They probably all go in the same place as I have heard this story many a time on here.

Is copper OK for fuel? I thought there is a corrosion issue. David.

Sorted! loose clip on fuel pipe and a split in a 'leak off/ spill' pipe, please see my new thread :thumb2
