Hi all,
how is everybody?

What is the service interval (cleaning etc.) for diesel fuel injectors?

and is the cam chain a life time part or is there a recommended replacement age/milage?

Thanks in advance

The Terrano diesel engine camshaft is gear driven not chain, and needs zero maintenance. :thumbs

Zippy will post you a link to the service manual for you to search injectors...:thumbs:thumbs

The 3.0 litre engine is chain driven though, but these things usually have at least a 200k mile lifecycle...

80-100k would be a good interval for refurbing the injectors to keep them at peak efficiency.

Timbo what would a man of your expertise say constitutes a refurb and where would you get it done?:thumbs

New nozzles, and check / crack pressure, new copper washers. At a reputable diesel specialist. There are 100 rubbish ones for every 1 good one IME.

Thanks Timbo - I take it you could do this mail order - any recommendations you could share?

I need the terrano, so posting them is not an option, if there was someone local i would remove them and hopefully get them done there and then.

Can they be cleaned up with ultrasonics or do the nozzels have to be replaced?

Depends on the spray pattern when put on the machine. For the price of nozzles, i wouldnt mess about with not replacing them whilst the injectors are out.
