fuel filter

i was just looking to take my fuel filter off but dont know how i found a brown wire coming off the bottom going to nowere, its a red plug on it. does anybody know what it is and were it goes to..

'ello Martin. that wire should go somewhere, on mine, it plugs in just underneath the air filter, i forget what the wire is called sorry!

as for removing it, check the downloads for the terrano one, im fairly sure it will be very similar....i did mine a while back, and apart from being fitted too tight, it was quite easy!

im sure the diesel filter is rh side rear and airbox is left hand side front the wires no longer than a foot in length..

i think the wire is for the water in filter light. :doh

that might be why i dont have one the light never comes on even when first turning on the ignition

i have managed to swap the filters over before the dark set in but the plastic bit at the bottom ( bit you swap) had what looed like a big blob of silicone on it.. i left it but wish i hadnt but never mind, its amazing how much a new filter can transform ones truck..
