Well the Saga continues, now the water in fuel light is back on. I'm convinced I've brought water contaminated biodiesel, not sure the best way to deal with it, do I just keep topping up with standard diesel and draining water off the filter?
Have you run off the "water" from the filter into a glass container, left it to settle, then you will see the bio/diesel on the top and the water on the bottom.
To sort out the water contamination, you are probably better off draining the tank, let the fuel settle, then take the fuel off from the top, leaving the water behind.
Unless you can make or install a water trap in the fuel line.
I guess it depends how much water there is.
In 18+ years of owning my Mav, there has never been any water in the filter, BUT I have only ever used forecourt diesel.
SO could be contaminated bio diesel.:doh
It's a very expensive way of buying water...:doh
There is a product used on boats, that combines the water with diesel, and it all goes through...BUT if there was a lot, I would steer away from it.
