Anyone know where I can buy a decent one of these for not silly money?

I know you could probably make one yourself but I'd rather buy one that's tried and tested and more importantly have come back on.

I plan on using WVO/SVO all year round this year following on from the surprising results I was having last year, I did notice that it was taking a little more time to turn over though and have actually not been able to fire it at all once a few weeks ago when we had that cold spell.

I just want to reduce the wear on my nice new shiny starter motor and battery ;)

the oil at your injectors will still be freezing cold tho banshee, so useless heating the filter alone. now, a seperate fuel pump of some sort(electric) and circulating the oil for an hour or so prior to turning it over may help, but i reckon it will cool off too much on return to tank? then you will need extra battery power etc.
sorry, not much help but i dont rate filter heaters at all. twin tank? small jerry can in boot for diesel start up?
 
been there done that didnt work the fuel in the pump and injectors is still very cold and the fuel in the fuel filter never stays in there long enough to heat up to make any difference

Also you would then have that heater pulling an extra 6 odd amps from your battery on a cold morning, when it needs all the juice it can muster to turn over the engine.
 
Same with the plate heat exchanger i have.


Really need heated injectors and pipes.
 
Not seen anything.

Neen knole engine pre heater with plate heat exchanger and bypass fuel pump

Heat engine
then pump fuel through injectors and pump. Heating both.

Youd be better off thinning with diesel
of going to twin tank system
