does anyone know wether or not the empty fuel light should apear with all the other lights when you first turn the ignition as i had the clocks out the other day and since i puit them back i was driving in the reserve but ther seemed to be no warning light to indicate low fuel so not sure wether or not i have knocked out the bulb because i cant remember if it used to come om or not when i started up

Hi on my truck the fuel guage does not return to empty with the ignition off, it still shows the amount of fuel in the tank.

The fuel does not light up with the other warning lights, when the ignition is turned on.

That's so fuel thieves can see which vehicle to target on the car park.
If yours is full there is £80+ of fuel in there.:doh

I'd prefer it to go to Empty.

Also this is taking some power, ok a small amount, but add this to the alarm, radio code, ECU memory, natural battery discharge, several % per month etc it's no wonder your battery discharges over a short time. Leave mine for 2 weeks in the open in the summer, and it just catches.

Aghhh don't suggest a second battery :doh:doh:doh:doh not if you are insured with Direct Line anyhow..

A small solar panel could keep the battery topped up. Aim it south at 45 degrees etc, doesn't work that well in Multi story car parks etc :lol:lol

Also reverse your car in to a space so the bonnet can be lifted to allow jump leads to be used from a passing motorist. Most of us drive in, so boot can be accessed. :doh

Sadly the problem is about companies like that not wanting modded vehicles on their books.....I suspect theres a lot of people on here who could find themselves uninsured given the number of changes they've made to their vehicles - plenty of companies happy to take such vehicles (for a price!) but if they aren't informed about things they have the right to refuse a claim :D

When I got my terrano to fix up as a project, it had a full tank......of petrol.....and it's 2.7...... Bugger. It's fine now :doh
