recently i put 4 gallons of petrol in the t2.what would be the best solution drain the tank or fill it up with disel. The other problem is so as to check this g removed a pipe off the fuel injection pump and have now lost this and the spacer nissan want silly money for it coz help would be most welcome

Most important thing is don't start the car (unless it's too late for that). If you have breakdown cover they have a fuel recovery service to deal with exactly that situation. I did it last year in my company car, the AA sent a specialised Transit which has the equipment to drain the fuel into an auxilliary tank in the van, the guy then put in 10 litres of diesel, started the car and let it run for a couple of mins - job done at no cost!

Syphon as much out as you can then fill to the brim with diesel and just drive the bloody thing.

These engines are more robust than you can ever imagine....I've driven one in the past with a full tank of unleaded (late night, pi55ing rain, four screaming kids - you get the picture!) at 90mph until it conked out after about four miles....costs around £150 to get it drained and the fuel pipes flushed at worst....but carried on once that was done as if nothing had happened.

If it were me (and I'm not recommending this), with only four gallons of petrol I'd be tempted (if its still running cos its not filtered through) to brimful it with diesel and drive it gently....and keep topping up to dilute the petrol still further.

But the syphon is your best route.

Just be absolutely clear that those older-tech diesel engines bear no relation to modern common-rail units that can be seriously affected by running petrol.....the truck I did it too at around 60k miles is still running like a sewing machine in Extremes hands with 180k+ on the clock....its a non-event.

Exactly what we did with my mates Pug some time ago. No side effects whatsoever and I would presume it had a smaller tank and therefore the petrol was diluted less.

unfortunately i have driven about 10 miles but the main problem is my now missing bolt and spacer off the injector pump any ideas were i might get them?

FILL with diesel.. and drive it..

im running on cooking oil, been told to put 10% petrol in when it get cold to thin it down.

bolt might get from CNCFAB or NISSAN 1ST

i done this in a car just hours before a Mot, topped it up diesel and threw in a 1lt of 2 stroke oil, it sailed through the test lol.

Wat sort of bolt and spacer you talking about, what did it do and why was it removed, Rick

it looked like a banjo bolt it is on one of the fuel lines on the pump nissan call it a regulating valve !

she was a little rough to start with, went for a 100 mile run seems to be ok now fingers crossed

WEELLL late on this one :lol not that I'd be of any help :lol

Wouldn't worry to much bout the banjo filter but av a look round some scrappys for it :thumbs

Me SWB has 1 but me new arrival LWB appears to have had it removed or not there to start with :nenau

As for the petrol issue :doh

Agree with all above :thumbs

These engines take major abuse & believe me mines taken loads in every form :augie
I like Zippy do from time to time put a litre of petrol in on a full tank of waste oil just to thin things out :thumbs

She'll be fine as the millage goes on :thumbs
