is there anything I can do to speed up my electric windows ? they go down reasonably fast but it's like watching paint dry watching them come up again, the motor seems ok and no bad noises probably just a lubrication required, but where ? and more importantly how ?

Hi any light oil, on the sliders on both sides, put it on when windows down. I put it on the glass seals it makes the windows a bit smeared but it soon wipes off, then watch those window go!............ bri....

PTFE or Silicone Lube is perfect.

PS do the back ones too if you av em.

strangely the back ones zip up and down like demons but the heavily used front ones drag like a bitch

will drown them in PTFE tonight and see what happens :)

i brought this up on a previous post... someone suggested good old household furniture polish. was a but apprehensive but i sprayed it down the window into the seals etc and its worked a treat, that was about 6 months ago and they've been speedy ever since.
an easy cheap fix...

Some polishes are silicone based. I also used to use polish in the awning rails of the caravan.

Try rubbing some candle wax on the sliders cheap and does the trick
