I really dont want to put second hand on but i really need new studs anyone please help.............. :-(

When I get new tyres fitted I always confirm with them that they hand spin on the nut then finish off with the air tools.

They normally just place the wheel nut in the tool, and spin straight away, so they go on no matter how the thread starts.

Check your studs, as they damaged one of mine once, but in fact it was part of the "Brass" wheel nut that had filled the thread, so a light wire brush and run down with a steel wheel locking nut and the thread was cleaned up, with no damage.

Yes my wheel nuts are in fact chromed brass
I do have alloys though.

Well they have survived 16+ years so far, but I always use a torque wrench.
With having locking wheel nuts, I had some spare ones. So far, 3 replaced.
Score so far Ford Garage 1, Tyre company 1, Brake replacement company 1( lost one) Nissan Garage 0, Home repairs 0.

Milners do sell them cheaply but I had quality problems with the ones I received, culminating in one shearing when I was tightening it using just the standard wheel brace
