Hi all

Currently out in France ballooning and the Terrano came in to it's own this morning on a very muddy retrieve.

Slight problem noticed that when in 4WD and on full right lock the O/S/F wheel for want of a better description binds almost as though its catching on something. Only happens in 4WD and on full lock both foraward and reverse nothing visually appears amiss nothing hanging off it!

Any thoughts?

Hi Paul, sounds like transmission wind up, since we don't have a central diff.
The front wheels are going in a different radius than the rears, so something has to slip. Usually you should be on slippy ground, to allow this.

I would guess that 4x4 drive is not required. So try without.

It's the same problem if you engage 4x4 on dry tarmac, because of the different wear in the tyres, the vehicle comes to a halt within a few metres.

So this is normal, don't use 4x4 too early, unless the ground is very slippy and don't use full lock.

Enjoy your break, and don't worry about this issue.

Best regards, Rustic

Ahh didn't think of it in those terms which seems obvious when you do think about it and makes complete sense.

Surprisingly it was happening on 4x4 type ground will keep an eye on it and see if/when it happens again.
