I had the Terrano on axle stands last night and thought I would measure the hub drop and was surprised . I had the hub in it's bottomed out position and measured it then took the top bump stop out, it gave me 10mm of extra drop before the arm bottom out on the frame, I thought there would be more movement. Has anyone modded it to get more drop or is it best leaving it as is?

Is it lifted ?

I jacked my front until it hit the bump stops, then chiseled them out, mine were 18mm thick. But that 18mm at the bumpstop is surely more at the hub.

I've also got some ball Joint spacers I'm fitting when I get some new ball joints. I got these off eBay. You get 6 spacers so 3 per side if u want, they are 6mm thick each, they go under top ball joint lifting top arm up to alow more droop

Unsure as to stacking them tho ...

No mine isn't lifted at the moment but I have some extended shocks to fit once I have finished fitting my winch.
Are there any A to Z instructions on the site of parts or things I'll need to watch out for lifting it using the diss location cone lift method?
I know how to raise the front as I have already re indexed the torsion bars last year.
What parts are needed?

Springs, or dislocation cones.
Ball joint spacers.
extended shocks.
.....?

I just want to get all the bits before starting. Modding the dis-cones are not a problem and fitting them.

I have have the following.
+2" Shocks (Rough country)
Landie dislocation cones.

Cut cones and fit as per thread in mods section

Wind up front to 20mm lower than rear

Shim out 2 top arm bolts to set camber if needed

Reset tracking

No point fitting extended shocks up front, you'll never extend them and may even bend them (bottom them out on compression).
Bump stops as mentioned :thumbs

I have asked about the ball joint shims on ebay and are awaiting reply.
Any idea of standard camber angles ? and should I not be taking shims out rather than adding?
I haven't measured the shocks but I bought them from Dave at Llama and told him I had a 2" lift so I am presuming that he understands the spec of the Terrano 2 lift that you guys have done (I could be wrong though.)

i bought same shocks from dave +2" longer front and rear and so far they are coping very well:thumbs:D

Yes u need to add shims on Terrano front, you'll need longer bolts as well so I read on Aussie forums

Search my last threads in my profile, I have listed shims/washers, bolts and my research

I have had a search through your posts and can't find anything really about shims, bolts etc.
It would be nice to know bolt and thread size, I think it will be metric fine perhaps?

And I think I'll give the extended shocks ago at that price.

Still absolutely no point putting longer shocks on the front they simply wont go any where and will be a waste of dosh. They may still bottom out too if you loose the bump stops . You may be ok on green lanes but use them in anger and you're goosed. Dave at Llama is ok bloke but basically selling you a Jeep shock that happens to be the right size etc for a 2" lifted T2 at the back. The front is pointless, oh did I say that already :p

Agreed, just get stock front shocks as you'll not gain anymore travel

i bought +2" longer shocks they cost the same as the standard length 1s:augie
It's not the cost issue. When you get them measure the compressed length of the front ones and then measure the std ones.
If the new ones are a longer comp length then you'll need bigger bump stops then you'll have even less travel
Hope you don't have an issue mind :thumbs

i have the standard bump stops on front as mot man down here likes to see them and have no problem with them:D

Missing Bump stops are not a reason for an mot failure according to VOSA

Btw I have none on front or rear ;)
