Hi,

i have noticed an increasing number of clicks and pings from the front suspension, particularly when cornering.

It's not the steering stops (I know that one !) and it doesn't sound like CV joints either - more like a worn bush on the anti-roll bars or somewhere as the suspension moves up & down with the car cornering.

Any suggestions ??

PS - wasn't sure to post in Body/Chassis or Engine/Running gear !!!!

Rock the vehicle side to side, if it makes noises likely to be anti roll bar bushes.

also check the free wheeling hubs too.

When I rocked mine a few weeks ago, there was an unusual click, on inspection it was the top off side ball joint, I must admit it was the easiest I have ever replaced.

I have done minis, ambassadors, fiestas, the BL cars were the worst, as they required shims to give a preload, but after a couple, you get it down to an art.

Iv got play in front suspension at the moment too. I have replaced the anti roll bar drop links which has made a difference (existing ones really were dead) Have yet to check what to replace next. There is still some play if I brake hard or going over uneven terrain.
