hi I have a 55 plate Nissan terrano 2.7 se tdi lwb (17 inch wheels). I had my local garage replace my clutch because the centre plate of the clutch had broken up .since then I have had problems with my front tyres wearing on the outside(had the tracking checked and its ok)
and the ride height of the front suspension .The way car drives is crap too . I have been back to the garage but just keep getting told the car is ok .from looking at the car I would guess you need to let down the front suspension to remove the cross member to get the gearbox out .my guess is they have not put the ends of torsion bars back in the same place as they came off or have not adjusted the ride height correctly . also the bump stops are touching the stops . The problem I have got is I don't know what the ride height should be or how to set it correctly . please if any one can give me any help or info!!! I would be very grateful .thanks rich

Post some pics of your car, and of the distance to the upper bump stops

It sounds like they have put the torsion bars on differently causing your camber to change

I have had to add 5mm of spacers and longer bolts to get my camber back after my 2" lift

Hi guys ,thanks for your answers!!! had another go today at getting the front suspension set up right . pulled both end of the torsion bars off and put them back on equally each side then adjusted the bolts to 65 mm . and it seems to have done the trick .so will have to let it settle down and see what I have got in a few day s . I also blanked the egr valve pipe off with ball bearings so will have to see if that make any difference too. (my first mod done). thanks again for you help. cheers rich :

not much point in putting balls in the vac pipes on there own, if as is likely the valve itself is jammed open, you need to put a blank gasket on the exhaust port, a cut tin can will do, Rick

blanked the egr port off to night. bit of job but its done. so will now have to wait and see if she tows any better at the weekend .
