I think Monroes are pretty good or Milners own at about £60 a pair :thumbs

I think so but don't quote me on that :augie

So are the rancho ones and the rough country ones not air ?

Some are and some not :doh Rough country do both but if you search for my +2" shocks thread the model no. is there  If you cant find it I'll nip out the garage and have a look

Rough Country that makeitfit / fez_uk / myself & some others have are OIL filled ;) & my fronts are Gas

Oil absorbs better ;)

Just fitted Sachs Oil shocks on the front of mine. I chose them primarily on price but I am reasonably impressed so far.

So, for extreme fast rally cross driving and jumps ( :D ) I'm better with the oil filled jobs ?

So gas is Ok for steady road use, I'm looking to fit some on the rear of mine, how hard is it to fit new front shockers by the way:confused:

No
For that you'll need high displacement probably remote cylinder jobs like Fox for example. Trouble is though there's simply not enough room for them on std truck.
Oil is good for relatively slow offroad work with big bumps and long(ish) movement, gas is good at road type bumps at speed where the bumps dont actually make the shock travel very far.
If you see what I mean :thumbs

So hitting multiple ruts and pot holes up to a foot deep is gonna break sommit :D

There a track I nail hard, in the middle of nowhere that is like a rally raid stage, it had 3 good humps to get air at 40-50 mph but sections of heavy potholed areas that chuck my truck about and chuck me back end out sideways on bends. I gets some bangs like the suspension hasn't fully returned for the next hit, but it's holding up well, not broke owt yet but I just want the best shocks for this kind of raid style driving ...

Ok gotcha, best bet for sustained action like that will be muchly expensive :sly
Give Milner a ring and ask to speak to the racing side of things, I've forgotten his name now but very helpful guy. Explain what you're doing and he'll blind you with science for a bit , and then tell you how much :lol:lol:lol:lol
Good luck, sounds a fun run, but you WILL trash it soon enough :lol

Lol, im not really up for spending £500 a corner :D

I guess I'll just continue to enjoy my Dakar raid fantasies and just fix it if I need to:p

I think bent alloys, bent shocks, and bent control arms is the worst I can really expect, so no real expense ... Unless I roll it ... :lol
