Has anyone got any advice on replacing the front shockers on the Terrano please.

Angle grind the top ones off, don't even bother trying to tackle them if you have new bushes washers and nuts.

Bottom bolt will then just wind out. Be mindful how forceful you might need to be to get the new shocks in position on the low arm as the metal arms that the bolt wind through may need opening back up a tad due to the new bushes in the bottom of the shock being so new and plump :naughty

Is that what shocks to get or best way to tackle them mechanically?

Already ordered Monroe Adventures for the front, will do rears later when money allows. The trucks is very bouncy going over bumps, significantly worse than my other truck.
So in answer to your question it’s about fitting them.

Thanks

Hi Jim, Mind if i ask why Munroe Shocks?
cheers.

I posted last year asking about what type or recommendations. This type seemed to get mentioned positively. Have used Monroes before on other vehicles and been ok. I don’t really take the truck off road and it is all standard so not lifted at all.

To be fair cheapies may well be fine and resolve my bouncing truck.

Hopefully in a few days I’ll know a bit more about them.

ok cool thanks.

Fitted the Monroes today, made a big difference lost most of the bounce now. The old ones looked like they were original. So I can’t really hand on heart say that Monroes are better than any others, might of been my old ones were so tired any new ones could of made a difference.
Main thing is I’m satisfied with mine and feel accomplished fitting them myself.

Thanks for the tip Banshee, chopped top bolts off. I got a second jack under the lower arm ball joint bolt just to take the weight a little to release the bottom shocker bolt.

I've got to sort mine soon. It feels like I'm on a boat in a rough sea

Haha don’t get sea sick:lol

I was a little hesitant about doing the front shocks but they were easy. I needed a long breaker bar on the socket to get bottom bolt moving and then the top one I just asked nice mr angle grinder to shift it.

The rear ones are a pig, it’s the top nut that screws on to a fixed stud :doh those will be next on the hit list or at least not far off.
