hi guys, my daughter is currently using my terrano and today I noticed that the front drivers seat was propped up and when I asked about it she said that the back part of the seat has become loose and wont stay up.
Is it worth me taking the seat out and the cover off and investigating it further or should I just try and replace the seat?
If the later does anybody have a seat local to west Yorkshire that I could collect as I don't think postage would be practical?

Any help is much apprecaited

Bloody ell mate, it'll be a write off by the time she's finished with it :lol

I reckon dealers is best for parts like that!

If it helps your search I fitted a SWB seat in my wifes LWB the other week, same fittings. Some of the LWB's used to slide forwards in the same way as a SWB does to let passengers in and out.

that's great to know....so it slides forward and the upper part flips forward too....?

Might be worth checking the handle isn't stuck in the up position :thumb2

I may spend an hour or so taking the seat out and the cover off and seeing if I can find out whats wrong first before I do owt else.
thanks for your help guys

Think that might be your best plan. Out of the 4 bolts that hold the seat there is only one that bolts through the body to the underside and gets rusty. Sorry can't remember which but you should be able to work it out easy enough.

Yeh it'll be the one that shears :lol:lol

:clap
cheers guys I will let you know what I find, if I remember I will do some pics too

yes cheers for that....

I guess it would be nice to have had a diagram to be able to see how it is all fixed together before I start dismantling it.....but hey ho....how hard can it be....:augie

I reckon return spring on the handle has gone but could be a weld to.. Shame you ain't closer to dorset as I've got a pair if 2002 lwb front seats you could have as I fitted bucket seats in mine and these aren't needed

I got several LWB seats and one SWB available, but if you can identify what has broke/gone wrong may be able to remove said part and send it, Rick

As far as I remember the LWB seats do not go as far forward as the SWB and the back rest the same so makes rear seat difficult to get into, Rick
