Hi there

Anyone got any links for suitable front recovery points (pigtails or similar) for the front of a Terrano?

I know bush ranger do some and so do warn ...

any ideas?

Whats wrong with what's there already? :nenau
They work for me :thumbs

1) I only have 1 and want to be able to use a bridle
2) I would prefer a monted shackle or closed loop solution where ropes etc have no chance of slipping off

look at the download.. front towbar.. you might be able to adapt them

Doesn't yours have 2 at the front? can't you just attach shackles onto them? thats what I do.

T2s have ONE pigtail

you could get yourself another pigtail...

do not think a standard one will fit, it curls to the nearside, so fitting on the nearside it will curl over the transport hold down point, which is welded part of the chassis, I suppose you could cut it off but do not know what the MOT people would think of that, what about imports if they have the pigtail on the nearside then thats what you need, Rick

i guess the question is .... anyone here have two pigtails on a Terrano and any mods required?

:)

Oh I don't use the pigtail. Just the 2 eyes on each side, With shackles.

if I am very stuck I will attach the strap to each eye and pull from the middle of that strap. So the load is even through the chassis etc

Pigtail is just a tie down point for transport purposes I think. Bin it and you'll se behind it the tow point. There's one the other side too, so you can double shackle and strop easy peasy:thumbs
Well that's we do :D cheap as chips

I think you have it backwards... the pigtail is the recovery point and the tiw downs are on both sides... which makes more sense from a stablity point of view

end of the day the pig tail will be designed for light - meduim recovery

I'd prefer to have the load equal from both points.

I'm confused now. I'm sure the pigtail thing was just two bolts holding it on , where as the other points we use are actually welded to the chassi rails direct. Me thinks that's stronger than a bolt on thing :augie Then again someone will be 'aving a shout shortly no doubt :lol
Anyroad up, I've pulled plenty out with them and also been kinetic recovered off them too and see no issues:rolleyes:

it also seems that the rules are different depending on whether you look at the front or rear of the vehicle

what look like tie down's at the back are recovery points

what look like tie downs at the front ... are and the pigtail is the recovery point
OOPS, oh well those very strong tie down points work really well as recovery points too :D
