Just read on another thread about Tommo having a front locker:sly
Googled it and found this lot in Aus. http://www.4wdsystems.com.au/index.php?id=29
Emailed them about a front "LOKKA" for the maverick and bloody bingo :D
Just got reply and its £331 delivered ,awesome:naughty
So I'm not bothering with the subaru transplant now as this will do a better job especially with auto hubs:clap
Can't wait to go defender bashing now:D

It's gotta be a cool trick :naughty
PS what does shimming the rear LSD mean? Does it decrease the differential, ie more like a locked diff?

not sure how you shim these ones, probably best putting a new clutch pack in - did read somewhere about putting an extra disc in - but yes will make it tighter, less slip allowed. In rallying usually reffered to as different % where 100% is locked solid. A 90% diff in fwd is very difficult to drive at anything less than competetive speed, with rwd its not such an issue but can still get understeer on turn in etc

My old boss used to do international rally cross with a cosworth escort . His mechanic used to WELD the limited slip diff. on anything he used on this kind of event.

I used to use a solid ally one in my short oval racers

Hi Guys
I was also stung by customs and excise for an extra £60 so you will need to have the funds ready for this if it gets caught up.
The locker is very easy to fit and makes a world of difference all you will need extra is a set if shims so it can be set up correctly. Mine need 0.5mm shims.

Shimming the rear diff puts extra pressure on the clutch pack making it harder for it to slip. The up side of this is the car has more traction at the back but the down side is the rear diff does not allow the wheels to turn at different speeds easily making it a nightmare to drive on tarmac as the car just wants to go in straight line.
I would not recommend this if your car is used on the road.My car is a dedicated off roader.

Cheers Tommo and Terranus, I was just reading too much stuff  Thought I could get the back a bit tighter but not too locked, if you see what I mean.I do use mine every day too so will stay on the driveability side for now:thumbs
I'll ask them about duty too, but I do have a friend in Aus who could be used for a transfer point. Thus making the goods s/h :naughty
Works for stateside import anyway:sly

Cracking video showing just how the lock rite lokka works:

Driven wheel in a corner, ie, inside wheel has all the power, but outside wheel, covering greater distance is allowed to turn faster due to the dogclutch mechanism, which is similar to that found in a 'hand ratchet' from a socket set, albeit much beefier

I'M SERIOUSLY GETTING A FRONT SHIPPED AS SOON AS I HAVE THE £350 ISH NEEDED
