Terrano 11

Hi I've just joined club and already have question about auto hubs. I have a terrano 11 2002 and love green laning. When I jacked it up I noticed one side the wheel spun freely but passenger side spun the drive shaft and prop is this normal or is hub stuck. I've just read through 6 page sticky but non the wiser. Many thanks

On a 2002 model you'll have the fixed front hubs as the change over was 2000:thumb2 when you jacked it up you'll have been in 2WD right if so yes it'll be normal as the front diff is an open diff unlike the rear with the LSD & as they are fixed hubs they can't get stuck like the auto's can

Also my rear diff ain't lsd is it worth looking out for one

So do I need to get there and free it or leave alone

There is nothing to free up. The pre 2000 models which had the auto hub at times the auto hubs can stick into the locked position & when in 2WD will turn the drive shafts & front prop just like the fixed hubs do. The idea of the auto hubs was to reduce the drag on the transmission & help increase MPG a bit when being used on road but Nissan scrapped the idea on the Terrano after it had been in production for 7 years & went to fixed hubs but it's one thing less to go wrong:thumb2
