front hubs. which type?

My terrano is a 2002 2.7 diesel.
The manual just states free wheeling hubs "where fitted" blah blah
How do I know if I have got them or not?
No indication on the caps, as they are missing!
Previously I had a newer model that didn't have them. The wheels are different...
(I can post pics tonight).

easy, just lay under front and try and turn front prop, no turn =fixed hubs, turn a little the gets stiff and locks with a click = auto lockers, Rick

Take a photo of one of the front hubs and post on here. No need to take apart or owt too drastic just as long as the wheel centre cap is removed which sounds like it is.
