this pic shows the driving dogs, and the dimples to retain grease for these two parts are the ones that dry out and start to seize if that happens then the shaft turns so giving problems with the other hub

You can see on the left assembly the ramps that push a spring that pushes the dogs together

the brake ring assembled, the light spring in the previous pic only lightly puts the brake rings together, they will normally be stationary, when the shaft turns the brake rings are pushe together hard enough that the ramped part pushes the dog clutch together

These parts are all on the stub axle and do not move, apart from the circlip and splined washer, Rick

Thanks for that, it is very much appreciated. :thumbs
I will check my inner hubs again but I am pretty sure there are no bits missing. Just those outer rings have the tabs broken off.

so is it the rings in the second picture to the right of the spring? Rick

If you can point out the bits that your missing from Rick's pictures I'm sure I'll be able to sort you out with some spares, I'm currently on my 4th set of Auto's :doh

ok...so i dont want to hijack the post but if mine are making the thumping/ clicking noise is there something i can do to stop this or repair it?

Yes remove the hubs and prise out the multi turn circlip holding the two parts in my first pic, one side will be dry and binding up, what happens is as the wheel is driving the hub the same came action takes place, it tries to lock the dog clutch but as the two parts are binding/seized it cannot lock and the forces on the brake rings can do damage, Rick
