Front hub problem?

Well that didn't work then :(

I've stripped and cleaned both hubs again, and managed to cover over 30 miles before it did it again  Then around another 20-30 miles, etc, etc. So now it's less frequent, but still does it.

Is there anything else that can cause this?

Are new auto FWH's still available?

Will manual hubs fit with my alloys (same as the Maverick in the forum title pic)? I really don't want to change the wheels. Where do you get manual hubs from? Are they expensive? How do you use them (engage them before or after engaging 4WD)?

Many thanks,

Frustrated of Milton Keynes :?

I hate to have to say it but 'I told you so' hey are available from milner off road, and i beleive we get a small discount from them? they are around £150 a pair all in.

dont know about the wheels but! they seem to stick out no further and are no bulkier than the auto hubs, I am sure someone wil be able to answer this though.

Sorry to hear your still having problems. Brand new genuine hubs will probably still be available, when I priced them up when I had problems they were about £450 each plus vat. I personally thin it's your brake rings that are at the root of your problem as they are the weak link. I have heard it said that if the wheel bearings have play in them it can cause your rings to fail. I'm a fan of manuals because they do away with not just the hub but the rings as well but you have to make your own mind up. Manuals are available from Milner Off Road and are usually priced on their web site. They actually have a slightly small diameter than the auto's but they are about an inch wider, in my case the centre cap will no longer fit. The workshop shows quite well the size comparison between the two types.
