Probably, from what I can see. I'd grind back the area to check, and then put a plate over it. Check behind it too as that's where the body mount is closeish.:)

cheers:bow ive got a freind who's a MOT tester who could weld it. :thumb2

WELD????

WOT EVER YOU DO DRILL A SMALL HOLE RIGHT ATTHE VERRY END OF THE CRACK THIS WILL STOP THE SPLIT GOING ANY FURTHER:clap:)

In theory yes but land it from 2ft in the air and it doesnt :lol

I may be wrong, but I think the gaps you've circled are supposed to be there, and aren't due to rot. The lower structure is attached to the outer part of the slam panel, below the headlights and horns. The inner part just closes up the gaps around the radiator I think.

BTW
this is front end rot:

Just zip it up - hardly anything to worry about, 10 mins with the mig and all will be well with the world!

You should Have seen what I have been doing all week.......now that was rust!

If you get underneath, see if it has been undersealed - if not get it done. I don't think mine was ever done, being a commercial - as the body joins underneath were rotted straight across. Major welding job, from behind the rear seats, right up to the boot floor!

Yeah. I'm going to cover the underside in wax oil. It's in such good condition underneath I want to keep it that way and not let the rot set in :nono
