Wheel bearings tightened up :thumb2

Went for a wee (2 mile drive) and the noise has definitely improved although it's not all gone, I reckon the tyres are definitely causing some noise though. I also reckon the loose bearings (particularly on the offside) will have caused some uneven wear on the brake pads that'll need to sort itself out.

If all else fails mate just turn the stereo up.:lol
Didn't realise how many creaks, rattles and groans my truck has until I drove it with the stereo off.
Nothing serious as everything is checked and changed /adjusted as needed.
Always worse after a good off road session but soon quietens down again with just road use.

Do we have step by step pics of this, I remember

we did yours down here the other day remember when we did your shaft, the bearing had play in it, took out the two locking screws and about quarter turn tol no free play then turned one lock hole more for pre load, not sure what the lock system is on a trol, Rick

Yeah that's it, just couldn't remember how much had to come off ect, circlips ect :doh

Update

So had been for another wee drive and the sound was really bugging me.

Jacked offside up, took wheel off and then removed the calliper (to take pressure off the pads) and spun the hub - clear bearing noise :doh

Bearings are still tight but noisy, could remove and repack but since both are noisy I'm thinking I'll be just as well replacing both.

Got 90 miles to drive tomorrow before I can do anything though... :(
