Is my front diff goosed?
I thought the auto hubs were buggered so just changed them to manual, in 4wd the front prop spins but still no drive to the half shafts, also on locking the hubs and lifting the front wheels the spin easy but are not turning together in opposite directions.
If the diff is broken what vehicles have the same type?
I think it's a hg43 diff.

Much more likely you have done a shaft, or a CVJ in the hub, Rick

Diff type is H233.

Agree with Rick, I suspect a CV or shaft.

FYI the axle code HG43 on the plate just means you have H233 diffs front and rear (the HG part) with a 4.3 diff ratio (the 43 part).

If the code was HH it would mean your rear diff was a H260 diff (bigger one mainly found on the leaf sprung utes and not on any UK spec Trols far as I know).

The smaller H233 is more desirable as the larger one isn't any stronger, just a physically bigger pumpkin.

Thanks for the information.
I just dismantled it and found the pinion gear destroyed and the ring gear damaged, The only numbers on the diff housing are KN72 and 3629.
On the vin plate it says RE4RO1 A HG46
Im trying to match it up with something but nothing so far.

RE4RO1A is just the gearbox code (although that's slightly odd as it should be the heavier duty RE4RO3A in a Trol).

Like I said Trol front diffs are all H233, the HG just means you have H233 diffs front and rear.

The "46" is the diff ratio, means you have 4.6 ratio pinion and ring gear.

You must have been doing something interesting to knacker the ring and pinion! Very rare for those to get damaged, especially without the rest of the driveline having damage. Has it had regular diff oil changes?

Also, I'd say your best bet for replacement ring and pinon is a breakers although you might have to buy a whole axle.

Either that or see if you can import new gears from Japan or Oz etc.

One thing that occurs to me is that a 3.0 Y61 should be 4.3 diff ratio, 4.6 was only in the 2.8s, are you sure its "46"? You said in your first post you thought it was "43"?
