Answered the other thread.

I'm doing the repair now!

I am using a metre length of 80mm x 40mm box section and welding that to 3mm mild steel plate which I will bolt to the front panel.

Will be posting some photos on my project thread in the next day or so.

If you click on my username to take a look at my profile, then click on statistics and see threads started by me you'll see my project listed. One day I'll put a link in my signature. Not put any cross member photos up there yet but will be doing soon.

Also sent you a pm.

I actually posted to see if there was any interest as my son had thought about making the panel and selling them complete with bolts to go straight on. There wasn't a lot of interest unfortunately but I'm happy to provide measurements from mine. There's photos of mine on the project thread.

All that said if Rick has yours then Rick will easily make one up for you.

I was thinking about saving Rick some time and grief really, as he has done so much already for me.
You should make them up ready for when people need them, a nice little money making idea that can help people out who do not have access to decent mechanics and also puts a bit of cash in your bin

It was my sons idea as he is wanting to make a little to see him through college. In fairness it doesn't take very long to make a repair section.

How bad is yours?

Daft thing is only a matter of weeks before We did the project car we paid £200 for the same job on our daily ride. The bloke did a really nice job, he made a new bumper reinforcer and a cross member all pained up so not a bad price at all.

Still think it was/is a good idea Jim...

Cheers Bry, I think when we have got the project car sorted out I'll get some steel and we'll make two or three and advertise and take it from there.
