OK guys, the questions are starting!

How do I remove the front bumper on the Terrano?

I know there are two bolts either side fastening it to the chassis rail.

What else is there to look out for?

yup, you have two guide "rails" either side above the bolts but back a bit on the wings- just don't damage them. Otherwise its just release the bolts, it will drop forward ever so slightly, then just pull back. seriously easy. I've lost count of how many times ive taken mine off ;)

Ok so have I got this right.

Behind the rubber shield there are the four bolts as I said on the chassis
Indicator wires

Then just support its weight and slide it forward

Is that it?

yes. If you look behind the rubber shield towards the front, the bolt holes are on the chassis support - one above the other. You need a socket with long reach ideally as you have to get through the chassis support to one of them either side. I forget size, things its 17mm. Then slide forward - it shouldn't drop much, just depends it its on right as there is a little angled stop on the bumper frame that will stop it from flopping out - youll see. Its not super heavy either, just heavier at the front obviously so it will wan to fall forward onto its front if you don't support it.

A bit like asking how long is a piece of string but have you had much problem with the bolts snapping or are they reasonably easy

nope, they are huge. Spray them first to be safe if you want, but I never did. First time I just tapped them with a large hammer nice and steady, then cracked them off no problem. When I put them back on, I just greased them up to be safe.

Wont be doing this job today but when I do Ill stick some photos in my project thread if that is of any use.

Cheers Rustic, looks like Im on the right track with those bolts. When I've removed the bumper Im expecting to have to do a similar repair which is what Ive just had to pay for doing on the other truck.

yes Jim those are the two bolts. see all that flaky rust on the chassis mount? get that wired off and waxoyld or something!!
