hi guys,

despite removing my front bumper several times, and replacing the left and right bumper guides, it doesn't seem to fit correctly at all. I have a gap all the way around, where on other cars there doesn't appear to be much of a gap.

I cant fathom what the issue is, everything seems ok, I am sure its had some scrapes in the past - evidence on the corners, but other than that ive replaced the bumper clips that attach it to the metal framing, but no damage there or bends etc...

any ideas?? I just want to get it looking straight, but not sure what to check next?

well, this is an older photo, but its much the same now

ive seen many where there isnt that size of gap...

So how do you know it's not the other cars that are at fault? Got to say gaps don't look any different to mine.

Ask yourself is it solid and stable? Chances are not wrong.

just doing the front on the Mrs old motor and the 4 bolts that hold the bumper frame to the chassis have considerable adjustment, Rick

yh its odd, I can get the bumper in place, and jack it up so the gaps are minimal, but after tightening the bolts and removing the jack it just drops back. The bumper itself is attached nice and solid to the bumper frame - I bought new clips for that and took it all apart, rust treated etc and refit.

Maybe it is right, it just doesn't look it, plus one side is slightly lower that the other

hmm...actually, I just had a look at quite a few images on Google, and they are all the same - the gaps look right, weird, ive seen a few with practically no gap...

Same size gap as mine & tbh I think all of the MK4's are like it:augie my MK2 twin head light model had a much smaller gap

ohh....good point - never thought there would be a difference between the mk3-mk5s...
