I have to admit mine would also need towing off the beach but it's still brilliant! and I'd rather spend the night in it that in a T2 any day, or any Jap 4x4 for that matter.

want to see a pic?

my dad had a freelander, very comfortable and a nice drive. Ground clearance was a issue but perfect for going around fields etc.

I recently had a drive on my brother in laws 56 plate Freelander. His is an automatic with, what I think he said was a 2.0l BMW diesel engine.

I have to say it was a very nice (compared to my T2) drive. I. E quiet and effortless, if not a bit cramped in the cabin.

The only problem he has had with hi 43k mile example is £700.00 repair where all the engine oil got in to the top end (in the barrels) for some reason. This could just be on the Beemer engined variant though and an isolated incident.

The previous owner bought it for towing a caravan, but sold due to poor performance in this task, however it is an auto.

I think I could live with one if I needed less load space.

hang on, i think plank has been nraped, as in fraped.

this super smashing great truck, is it an R/C.

can we have plank back please.

the are supposed to be the most popular 4x4 though
based on a rav 4 its hardly suprising but i dont see
many towing, or even wih towbars on. or off road for
that matter though again are supposed to be more
capable than would expect.

SO come on then, let's see it! The suspense is killing me. I'm desperate for a decent giggle!
