For those wanting to scrap the EGR on their TD27/T, it should actually be quite simple.
Haven't done this myself, but have a copy of the service manual handy.
Looking at the inlet manifold on the water pump, there are THREE water temp sensors.
The one closest to the front is for control of the EGR system, and nothing more.
Disconnect it, and see if you can run the car as per normal without an engine error code.
As I haven't tried this myself, I don't know if this results in an error code or not.
Give it a go though!
if it does result in an engine error code, simply place a 3.3kOhm resistor in place of the water temp sensor - will make the computer think that the sensor is there, but it won't meet the conditions to open the EGR valve.
