.and been reading the papers today; seems a government report has advised that the costs of doing this would outweight the savings....the biggest victim would be the Keilder Forest where apparently the net loss would be around £28m.

Nice idea whoever thought of it.

i dont see the benefits of these welsh,scottish parliments just more windbag politicians costing shed loads and not being able to do anything! either cut them off and let them raise own money and pay there own way or close em!.
as with any national industry i bet theres 5 blokes to do job of 2 with no concern for waste so privatise forrestry commision not woodlands!

I'm mainly ok with WAG as my daughter gets her uni fees paid, we have no prescription charges and various other things I cant remember:nenau oh yeh , we get to charge drivers to come in:lol
Main trouble is we CANT actually rule/raise taxes/make proper laws etc.
if we could then I think we'll put up the bridge toll by 200% and sell water properly:naughty
We also bagsie all the Cardigan Bay Oil................keep the FC timber so we can ALL have a door on the cave
I'd also vote to save money by painting over the english bit on road signs, ban speed cameras and get rid of all white lines on the roads.
Sell merry-joanna in Super drug and have free beer on Fridays.

Why privatise yet another body that makes money for the country and eases the tax burden just a bit? before you know it, it will be like utilities etc.., all our national assets ownd by foreign companies and we pay through the nose for basic services....

i think you guys should be able to govern themselves until you can whats point in welsh assembly when it has to go cap in hand to westminster to aprove its laws etc double handling two sets wages and countless civil servants interfering,you must despair at the waste in mod bet you can see many easy improvements.
