Dear all,
Recently purchased a 1995 Maverick 2.4 petrol and keen to learn fast!
Cannot find any reference to greasing schedule for the transmission joints.
My last vehicle was Toyota and had schedule and pictures to help.
Is there anyone who knows what grease to use?
Also, is there a backlight to the digital clock? Mine disappears at night!
And finally, which commercial lubricants are suitable for Engine, Transfer, LSD and front Diff? All I have is some Ford references to obsolete oils!
Any help would be much appreciated!
Cheers

You need the Nissan Terrano workshop manual for the chassis and transmission - HERE

and the D21 pick up workshop manual for engine matters - HERE

Hello Hummingbird,

Many thanks for the links!
I know now that must apply Multi-Purpose grease to any grease-nipple in sight and that my Ford engine is actually a Nissan KA24E and in fact I'm driving a Terrano II made in Spain! Not bad for my first day at school!

Seriously, I am trying to do a first own service the vehicle before winter and plan to start this weekend.

Do you have a digital clock in your instrument panel?
Can you see it at night?
Having sleepless nights about it!

Thanks again, cheers.

Hi Redish and welcome along.

My clock is the same as yours so I am interested to hear if there is a simple cure.

Cheers for now,
Chris.

CLOCK

i have a 1996 2.4 and it also has a dull clock :? sounds like its a trade mark fault weve all got.

If I remember right there is a small bulb behind it, remember seeing it when I had to replace the clocks on our 1994 mav which read 100mph when doing about 10.

Paul.

Dear all,

Thank you very much for the comments and suggestions.
As soon as I get more familiar with the machine I will hopefully start contributing to the general debate myself.
One thing I am doing at the moment is to use the clock from the RDS radio (original factory equipment) which can be seen at night by pressing the MAN button. It will have to do until I have the time to disassemble the dash and check the bulb.

Cheers

My clock illumination came on when i adjusted the steering coloum to the highest position, I did it quite hard by mistake (thought it was locked but it wasnt).
Must have been a loose bulb connection. I can now see when i'm late

I am going to try it after dark!
Should be able to see any flash of light if the bulb is still working.
It is the 5th of November after all!
Thanks for sharing your experience.

Cheers

dull clock

have tried the steering coloum adjustment bash and still no light so it will be a new bulb job.not long stripped all the dash and clocks out of the other t2 so its still quite fresh in my mind how to remove them.
