In addition to the Nissan Patrol, I had to upgrade my other car.

Before buying my Audi S4 I had a Volvo V40 1998 which had some electrical gremlins. Volvo designed the S/V40 very 'cleverly' and runs the main wiring loom from the nearside to the offside underneath the radiator. Due to this design there is a lot of moisture which finds its way into the wiring loom. As a result the wires in the wiring loom corrode and you can expect very interesting faults to come up randomly.

My latest fault was an ABS light and a Brake Fluid reservoir low level warning. I expect that the ABS light comes on as a result of the Brake Fluid reservoir low level warning. Whenever this problem came up the speedometer would also stop working. Not a major issue as such but a little bit annoying. In its final days the wiring loom that runs to the tail gate (tail lights and number plate lights) failed too so a lot of work to do.

The downside with these faults is that I can replace the individual wire but you never kknow what will happen next. As I bought the car on ebay for £700 when my Nissan Patrol failed the MOt it was no longer worthwhile to invest in replacing the wiring loom and it needed 3 new tyres.

So out with the old and in with the new.

Bought myself a Audi S4 2.0 Multitronic, brilliant car to drive.

Nice looking motor, so when are you doing a body lift on that. :nenau

Some good off road tyres would be good too.....:augie

I'm not sure they are the original number plates... so I would look hard at the history...... :lol :lol :lol

To be honest, I wouldn't display my reg number on a public site either.
Just in case I upset someone.:doh

Rustic, at least a car that needs no work done to it! :bow

While I very much like the Patrol project, I am very busy at work at the moment and it will have to wait a little bit longer. Which is very frustrating now it is almost finished, but I just haven't got the time.

Very nice motor, bit of a VAG fan myself:thumb2.

Not wanting to be too pedantic :augie, but is it definitely an S4 (the 4.2l V8 monster, or the newer 2.0 TFSI turbo) or an S Line 2.0l Multitronic?

If it is an S4, then you're a lucky chap!!

Cheers,

John.
