THOUGHT IT OF INTEREST
Hi , I have a niggling problem with my Terrano and would appreciate any thoughts...
When engine is ticking over and you rev the engine quite briskly there is a flat spot/misfire just for a second between 1500/2000 rpm ,( a lot worse when cold) , when driving you can feel it but on when travelling on a light throttle then accelerating , when driving briskly you don't notice it , any thoughts ? I was thinking dodgy injector ?
I have exactly the same problem, i take it yours is a 2.7 TDI with Zexel electronic inj pump, 1996 onwards.
I have tried allsorts to cure it, changed fuel lines filters, removed mini filter from pipe banjo union on inj pump, but all to no avail, i did get rid of the flat spot by cleaning the MAF sensor with air intake cleaner, and gently blowing it out, but the misfire at 1500/2000 rpm remains.
Alas, the springs inside the injection pump arm common for breaking up, and this is one of the symptons. mine has 145,000 on the clock and ive lived with the missfire for over a 12 month now, ill wait till it gets worse before i do something about it.
I also have this on mine... theres somthing on autodata on common problems about a fault with the mapping on the ecu, i will try get a screen shot.
I have been running mine on engine oil recently and it has stopped which is intresting also?
