flashing engine light

hi just want some advive please have a 98 terrano 2.7td wont start, will turn over but there seems to be no fuel at the injectors,and the engine light is flashing, from your posts i can only confirm this to be a nats problem i.e immoboliser,defective chip in main key.problem is i only have one key set.so where do i go from here without having my pants pulled down by a main dealer

Is yours the TDi? easy way is do you have a intercooler on top of engine with a big vent in middle of bonnet?
If it is go to Quick Links at the top right of the screen. Then Downloads. You'll find the instructions for reading the fault codes from the ECU on a TDi.

agreed, that flashing light is telling you something! if it is flashing, id release the drain valve under the fuel filter, perhaps the filter is swamped with water? you never know...

Flashing EML indicates the chip in the key is not being recognised by the vehicle, you need to try another key first, then if that dont work see if your ignition barrel is not loose on the column as i have found on some nissans that if it is loose it wont recognise the key.:thumbs
