Fitting new front and rear shockies

Can anyone give me a breif guide on how to remove the front and rear shocks, and anything to watch out for when doing it, ive been warned about fitting them upside down (apparently possible on the terrano 2)

is there anything complicated I need to remove? or anywhere I need to jack?

Just make sure everything is well lubed up before attempting to remove anything

I have a problem when removing my front passengers as one of the bushes got stuck and as I was removing it it was very tight and nearly bent one of the eyelets off the lower arm

the fronts are impossible to fit upside down.
Give the nuts and bolts a good soaking of wd40.
Front wheels have to come off so you can get at the shocks.
Support on the chassis with axle stands.
The top mounts on the front can be a pain but the angle grinder sorts them out.
Rears can be done with truck on ground and wheels on.

Yup, im +2 all round. just getting the shockies to marry up the rest of it.

And yeah sorry all for what is probably a silly question, but you have to bear in mind, ive never done anything like this before so go easy with me.

Im gonna soak the front and rears in penetant spray and attempt this at work on Saturday (if the shockies turn up that is) :lol

You don't need +2 at the front as they'll never get that long. Std ones at the front is all you need.

Yeah Rick told me that yesterday, however, they were the same price, so for the sake of it ive ordered +2 just to marry up with the front (even though it wont get used) :lol :nenau

Cancel the order quick sharp :doh The front ones at +2 will also be longer when compressed So you may end up loosing articulation up front.
Also the front shocks are different to the rear ones. Rear are ring each end and front are ring to pin .

I just rang them up and they couldnt have been more helpful! :thumb2

The delivery driver was due to take em out in 25 mins!!!

They have now swapped for 2 front ES9000 standard shockies

Hi

I was going to do the same. I have the blue springs on mine 20% stronger standard ones and then was going to buy spring spacers and thought 4 +2 shocks for front and rear I had to knock my inner sills in at moment I use 16's all terrains and I use 235 70 16 MUDs for when I play off road but wanting to go maybe 265 70 16 think they are equal to 31's so I thought I would have to lift all 4 shocks but reduce the torsion bars to counter for it so sorry about waffling on lol what you saying is I don't need the front just new standard size ones ? This is mine with just +2 body lift I took off all the chrome lol as just not needed for off roading lol a lot of money I spent just for it to look pretty hahaha well lesson learnt got some rock sliders to go on next

Most has been done on here too so you'll never really be in the dark too much, unless you fit one of a kind super bumpers :augie
