First Oil Change Finally Done!

Well, this virus of mine finally gave me respite enough to tackle my first oil change and I'm happy to report it was a success. :thumbs

Yep, that oil filter is a pig, but took the wheel off, went in through the arch and, once I'd worked out that it was me being an idiot rather than the removal tool, it came out fine.

There was no washer on the sump plug...yep, I was really careful taking it off and I even sieved the emptied oil afterwards just in case something had fallen in. Anyway, plug went back in nice n' flush and there's no leak, so all seems to be okay.

Well chuffed that my first time went so well...won't worry about it so much next time now!

Er, Jim, I'll have to decline your generous offer...there's a good five thousand or so miles to go before I do another oil change

Rustic...Ah, yes, the outside loo. Rather than take it to the dump (there's an awful mixed metaphor or something lurking in there) I decided to recycle it and grow roses in the pan and cistern. Much to my neighbour's delight. :lol

I've actually seen people stop and take photos on their phones before now, which cheers me greatly, knowing that my old bog is ending up on people's facebook feeds moments later.
