yes m8 i had to prize it out and it wont go back in with out a good push with the edge of a screwdriver, i took the other hub off to compare and that moves freely around and can take off and put back on with no effort

do not follow the part in the pic just sits on the spring in the hub and the two lugs go behind the similar two on the removable part of the hub, from what part did you have to prise it off? Rick

the part with the similar lugs on, it was stuck solid

OK if you offer the ring in the pic to its mate on the car does it mate in nice or does it rock on two points, Rick

it rocks and wont mate without force

Oh it has bent down, only solution is a new one.
Or a good replacement one.

If it works like a fuse, then might be worth getting a spare too.

So does this transfer ALL the torque to the front wheel, I guess it does..?

Bigger wheels could put more force on it.

its broken because i've not put it back together properly after giving it a strip and regrease :doh the heat has made it go misshapen so now instead of flowing freely it just jams

I saw damage on the first photo and that's pretty much what happens to them, it'll be cracked too and some of them often break off. That's the brake ring that comes as a pair with the other ring that you haven't removed yet I'm guessing. Last time I bought some they were about £50 per side .

Did you get the good old clunking when you engaged 4x4?

It's the worst when you're going along and they try and engage on their own and you get a massive clunk!!!!!!!!!!
